Romance on the Water

What do you think is one of the top romantic activities here in Florida’s Paradise Coast? Of course you’re probably thinking of going out for a romantic dinner, but thanks to a new study by the Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation and a recent She Fishes 2 blog post, we know that the answer just may be a date for boating and fishing on the water!

Some of the statistics that illustrate the thrill of the catch include:

·        38% of men are impressed by a woman who can bait a hook

·        One-third of people in a relationship prefer non-traditional dates such as hiking and fishing

·        60% of women and 58% of men would be game for going fishing on a date

·        70% of women and 68% of men would go on a boating date

·        Top five outdoor dates are boating, hiking, camping, fishing and biking

Luckily, there are plenty of opportunities to do all of those things together in our area. If you don’t own a boat but are comfortable on the water, you can rent an easy-to-navigate boat at most area marinas. You can also consider a fishing charter with one of the many experienced guides that can not only take you to some beautiful, out-of-the-way spots, but also provide you with an exciting day of catching, not just fishing! Consider that for special romantic outings, hiring a guide means you won’t run the risk of making mistakes like running aground or getting lost, which could really spoil your day together.
